Skills for the future, today

Training and career development for adults in Coventry & Warwickshire

about

Coventry and Warwickshire Adult Learning (CWAL) was formed in 2021 as a result of a successful group bid to become part of the Government’s Skills Accelerator programme scheme.

WCG (Warwickshire College Group), Coventry College, North Warwickshire and South Leicestershire College(NWSLC) and Stratford-upon-Avon College all received a proportion of the funding to provide new fit-for-purpose training facilities across the region.

The colleges are continuing to collaborate, with funding secured as part of the Local Skills Improvement Plan (LSIP), and the Further Education Innovation Fund (FEIF). This will be used to provide additional new facilities to reshape technical skills training and provide adults in the region with skills for the future.

The four colleges are working with education stakeholders, local authorities and employers to develop training which meets the needs of the dominant sectors in the local area, predominantly targeting:

Engineering, in particular electrification and alternative fuel systems

Digital including ICT, cyber skills, creative content production and gaming

Construction, in particular low carbon technologies

Transport and logistics

CWAL provides a platform to explore all adult education opportunities which are available at our collaborating colleges across the whole Coventry and Warwickshire region.
